I got screwed by credit card fraud back in January. Someone got my info while I was pumping gas at an Arco/AmPm and they stole over $1000 from my bank account. This deal would have really helped me out then.

Tips to help protect against identity theft: * Check credit card statements, bank documents and financial reports every month for unauthorized activity. * Protect Social Security numbers. Don’t carry Social Security cards in wallets or write the number on a check. * Don’t provide personal information over the phone or the internet. * Never click on links sent in unsolicited email messages. * Keep personal information in a secure place at home. ALL SPAM EMAILS = SCAM! Say NO to wire transfers!

I was scammed as well for 668 dollars and then again for almost 2,900 dollars. I didn’t realize this person was stealing my money until I was informed about the 2,900 withdrawal from my bank teller asking me if it was me. I said no and found out about the $668 as well. I was able to save the $2900 because of the fast thinking of my bank but the $668 sadly slipped under my nose because I was oblivious to this. Now I’m poor :(

This is so cool. If I get this, I’d be so anxious to become a victim, and hopefully I would be close enough to get to the starbucks to confront the guy who just used my number before he leaves. There’s no justice like baseball bat justice!

Sadly, this is only available in Canada. American financial institutions have banned 3rd party real-time credit card monitoring services like MySpy because they want people to get fleeced and robbed by hackers and get their identities stolen by offshore criminal syndicates so everyone gets so fed up they’ll try anything to protect themselves. Then the American banking cartels will unveil the final solution; sub-dermal implants with tracking chips, banking, medical & identity, it will enslave us.

MySpy is coming to the US and the rest of the world in a BIG way, have no doubt.

Credit/debit cards are a blissful ignorance. An inconvenient convenience that people blindly use.

The thieves will come up with some way to not show any info or delay the posting! :D

  • Max Aim June 18, 2010 at 7:27 pm

This doesn’t solve anything! The robbers are still gonna get the money, the only difference is that you know a lot sooner and maybe prevent further theft.

There’s a few services available like this in Canada. I didn’t realize that this sort of thing wasn’t even available in the US.

I guess this is one of those things Canada got right.

I once had my card info stolen. The thief used it to buy $500.00 worth of stuff in the online World of Warcraft game. What a loser lol.

Anyway, the bank was great at refunding all of my money. Some identity and credit card thieves are very smart. Very tough to bust. That my-spy software sounds really cool if you can get it for a decent price.

That is always the problem. Is it worth paying a monthly fee forever when you may have your info stolen once or twice in a lifetime and the bank will refund you anyway?

This could be an excellent tool to help deal with fraud quicker but it could really stop it unless i have missed the point because it would tell someone every time something happens in their account

I live in Brazil, and here are some financial institutions offer this service for free to customers. I know itsn’t a 100% reliable service, but helps you monitor your account.
